Major Iowa Municipality Ordinances and Demographics

This page is primarily for RPO’s and PM’s who live or do business in a municipality with a population over 10,000, in Iowa.

Here you will find:
  1. A link to the Iowa Landlord Tenant Law – Iowa Code Chapter 562.A.
  2. Iowa QuickFacts from the Census Bureau
  3. Links to a page for each city.   As of 2014, we’ve created the structure and have some content for Des Moines and Council Bluffs.    Have digital info on city ordinances you’re willing to share?  Send it our way! and we’ll post it here, with a sincere, “Thank You!”
  4. Here is the complete 2000 census data we used to build one of the tables, in MS-Excel spreadsheet format  (Could not find one for 2010)

Below you’ll find two tables.  You can search by city name or sort the table data.  Click the city name, a  hypertext link, for  our home page for that city.

  • 2010 Census Data – Population > 10,000
  • 2000 Census Data – Population > 10,000

Should you wish to post information of interest to RE investors about these cities, please visit our Forums.

This project was started Dec 15, 2012.   We will have something similar for all 99 Iowa counties, but … be patient.  That is a work in progress as well.   We are building the tables first, and the method for access, then we will add content municipal ordinances and other items of interest to real estate investors and entrepreneurs.

If  you have municipal ordinance date you are willing to share, please send us an email.
